LOCAL MISSION GRANT
OVERVIEW
As a Matthew 25 church, we are aware of the gifts that God has given us to share with other members of God’s family. As First Presbyterian Church members, we hope to partner with local non-profit agencies who work day in and day out to provide help and hope to the children of God in the Kanawha Valley. One of the ways in which we collaborate is to provide financial resources to our local partners through our annual Local Mission Grants. First Presbyterian Church of Charleston has $75,000 available with our Local Mission Grant to help local nonprofits provide basic human needs (food, clothing, and shelter), mental health care, healthcare, and Christian nurture/education.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
-be a 501c(3) nonprofit organization
-provide services locally in the Charleston area
-have a project that can be completed within the grant year
PROCESS
-Agencies will complete the application (click the button the left to access the digital application packet) and return two copies by mail by 4:00pm on Monday, June 2, 2025. If you prefer, you can email a single digital application to diana@firstpresby.com.
-If you received a grant from us in 2024, please complete and return the required Agency Report Form with your 2025 Local Mission Grant Application (also found to the left).
-Please use the application form as your cover sheet so that all of your contact information is quick at hand for our Grant Review Committee.
MAKE AN IMPACT GRANT
OVERVIEW
After prayerful consideration, and with the generous support of our congregation, First Presbyterian Church is offering a grant in the amount of up to $40,000.00 to fund local non-profit agencies working together to create a new and unique project that might be more innovative in how it provides basic needs to local people. Depending on the responses we receive, we may fund one or more projects. Projects/Organizations selected will receive funding in October 2025.

-have a project that can be completed within the grant year

– If selected, all grantees are required to submit a progress report to diana@firstpresby.com by January 30, 2025 with project updates including how monies have been spent. A final report will be due by October 30, 2026. Please include pictures if able.
