Join us for dinner in the dining room at 5:30pm, make your way to the Ruffner Room at 6pm then head to the chapel to join the kids in Communion.

LOGOS after Dark: 9-Session Course Outline

October 1st – Session 1 – Why Faith After Dark?

  • Theme: What does it mean to wrestle with faith in a complicated world?

  • Scripture: Genesis 32:22–32 (Jacob wrestles with God at night)

  • Focus: Honest faith isn’t easy; God invites our questions and struggles.

  • Discussion: Where do you feel faith is hardest in today’s world?

October 8th – Session 2 – The Story We Live In

  • Theme: The big story of the Bible and how it shapes our daily lives.

  • Scripture: Luke 24:13–35 (The road to Emmaus)

  • Focus: Understanding the Christian story as more than just “beliefs.”

  • Discussion: What cultural stories compete with the gospel’s story?

October 15th – Session 3 – Jesus and the Kingdom: Then and Now

  • Theme: What is the Kingdom of God, and what does it look like today?

  • Scripture: Mark 1:14–15, Matthew 6:9–13

  • Focus: The kingdom as both present and future, personal and public.

  • Discussion: Where do we see signs of the Kingdom breaking through?

October 22nd – Session 4 – Faith and Doubt in Real Life

  • Theme: Does doubt weaken or strengthen faith?

  • Scripture: John 20:24–29 (Thomas and Jesus)

  • Focus: Making space for doubt as part of discipleship.

  • Discussion: How can the church become safer for honest questions?

October 29th – Session 5 – Justice, Mercy, and Walking Humbly

  • Theme: How should Christians respond to injustice?

  • Scripture: Micah 6:6–8, Luke 10:25–37 (Good Samaritan)

  • Focus: Faith as public and active, not just private and personal.

  • Discussion: What local or global issues call for Christian action now?

November 5th – Session 6 – Faith and Technology

  • Theme: How do our devices shape our souls?

  • Scripture: Romans 12:1–2

  • Focus: Technology isn’t neutral—how does it shape how we think, relate, and believe?

  • Discussion: How can we use technology faithfully without being consumed by it?

November 12th – Session 7 – Christian Hope in an Anxious World

  • Theme: How does faith address worry, fear, and despair?

  • Scripture: Philippians 4:4–9, Romans 8:31–39

  • Focus: Christian hope is not optimism but confidence in God’s presence.

  • Discussion: Where do we see anxiety most in our culture, and how can faith speak into it?

November 19th – Session 8 – Who Is Jesus, Really?

  • Theme: Christology for everyday life.

  • Scripture: Colossians 1:15–20, John 1:1–14

  • Focus: Jesus as Savior, Lord, and model for living.

  • Discussion: How does who we believe Jesus is change how we live?

November 26th – Session 9 – Living LOGOS

  • Theme: Carrying the Word into the world.

  • Scripture: James 1:19–27

  • Focus: Faith as not only believing but doing.

  • Discussion: What practices can we take with us from LOGOS After Dark into everyday life?
