Food Pantry Needs:  Boxed Dinners

The Cents-Ability Offering is Received Next Sunday, March 20:  YOUR giving is making an IMPACT. The generous giving of First Presby congregation is making a dramatic impact on the lives of those who struggle to for food.  In 2015, our church gave $8,268.34 to the Cents-Ability Offering.  Provided is a letter from Ruth Farrell, Coordinator of the Presbyterian Hunger Program:  “Dear members of First Presbyterian Church, We know you probably already received the official receipt for your recent gifts to the Presbyterian Hunger Program totaling $509.49 in December.  Even so, we in the Hunger Program saw that you had given and wanted to say thank you.  Gifts like yours make a difference in lives around the world, helping families feed themselves and communities thrive.  They also support the work inspired by Proverbs 31:8-9, which calls us to speak up for those who cannot and defend the rights of the poor and needy.  Thank you for joining us in the mission of alleviating hunger and eliminating its root causes.  Visit us at pcusa.org/hunger if you’d like to learn more about how your gifts are helping in the U.S. and around the world.  With a grateful heart, Ruth.  Of the total amount given to the Cents-Ability Offering in 2015, ½ goes to the Presbytery to provide hunger relief in our state, ¼ goes to the General Assembly to provide hunger relief in our world, and ¼ goes to the Covenant House Food Pantry to provide local hunger relief.  Your “cents” when all added together is AMAZING.

It’s Charleston Trash Bag pick-up time again. If you have more bags than you can use, please donate them to the church. Each year we save over $700 by using your donated bags. Thank you!

Kroger Plus Card Shopper? The Kroger Company will make a contribution to First Presby each time you use your Kroger Plus card, when you designate the church as your choice of charity. (Participation does not affect your gas point total). To enroll your card go to www.kroger.com/communityrewards and select First Presby as your church. During the week stop by the church office with your Kroger Plus Card and we will be happy to register it for you. To date over 40  families have signed up and First Presby received a check from Krogers for $481 for the last quarter.

Electronic Giving: Did you know that we can easily set-up a recurring gift to the church directly from your checking or savings account?  This can easily be done on our church website. Also you can offer your financial gift to God electronically by scanning  the QR code on the laminated card in the pew racks. These cards can also be placed in the offering plate as a sign of your faith and trust in God, if you already give electronically through your checking account or credit card.
