Lay Academy continues to study “The Spiritual Brain: Science and Religious Experience,” today from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m., Room 201 in the Activity Building. Dr. Andrew Newberg presents lecture four. Everyone welcome. Come and bring a friend or neighbor.
Manna Meal Sandwich Making Next Sunday: The Elementary Sunday School Children (former Covenant Kids) will be making 200 sandwiches next Sunday, March 6, during the Sunday School Hour. Adults are always welcome to help with this project and to help deliver the sandwiches and fruit to Manna Meal. Meet in the chapel at 9:15 a.m
Stephen Ministry: First Presby is hosting a Stephen Ministry Introductory Workshop from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on March 12 in the dining room. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the cost is $15 per person or $50 per congregation with four or more participants. Anyone desiring to be an active listener and how to reach out to others in a Christian way are encouraged to attend. Develop grief ministry skills you can use right away. Basketball Banquet: The Basketball Banquet is scheduled for Tuesday March 1, at 6 p.m. in the dining room. Please wear your uniforms and come to the gym between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. for team pictures. Remember to bring a change of clothes, so you can turn in uniforms that night. Questions? Bad Weather Policy For Church Activities: If Kanawha County Schools are closed due to weather, all meetings and activities in the church are cancelled. If public schools close early due to weather, all meetings and activities in the church are cancelled for that evening. Please do not come out if it puts you at risk for injury. Worship Services will always be held!

(Participation does not affect your gas point total). To enroll your card, go to www.kroger.com/communityrewards and select First Presby as your church. If you need help, stop by the church office during the week, with your Kroger Plus Card and we will be happy to register it for you. To date at least 45 families have signed up and First Presby received a check from Krogers for $481 for the last quarter.
Equal Exchange Products: Coffee, tea, cocoa, chocolates, raisins, trail mix, and nuts continue to be available for purchase after worship and during the week during church business hours.
Festival of Faith: Mark your calendar for the Festival of Faith on Saturday, April 2, here at First Presby. The Keynote Speaker will be Heath Rada, Moderator of the 221st General Assembly. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Complete workshop information can be found at www.wvpresbytery.org.
It’s Charleston Trash Bag pick-up time again. If you have more bags than you can use, please donate them to the church. Each year we save over $700 by using your donated bags. Thank you!
Recycling at First Presby: Our recycling center has moved from the Nursery entrance to the office hall vestibule at the Leon Sullivan Entrance. Please continue to recycle your aluminum cans and plastic drink bottles in the marked bins. Containers are also available to collect pull tabs and plastic tape dispensers.
